- Australian College of Care Workers membership is open to persons working for remuneration (excluding government benefits) in:
- Residential Aged Care Services
- Disability
- Mental Health
- Community Services
- Supported Residential Services
- Independent Living Centres
- Home and Community Centres
- Day Care Centres
- Respite Care Services
- Retirement Villages
- Other environments where professional care is provided
- Members of Australian College of Care Workers are required to have completed and been deemed competent in the minimum qualifications or higher qualification.
- Carer Workers– Certificate III in Support care or Certificate in Ageing and Disability or equivalent in Aged Care or Mental Health Care, Certificate IV Disability.
- Leisure and lifestyle personnel – Certificate IV in Leisure and Health
- Laundry workers – Certificate III in laundry operations, Certificate III in Health Support Services
- Cleaners – Certificate III in cleaning operations or Certificate III in Health Support Services
- Food Handlers – Basic accredited certificate in safe food handling
- Members of Australian College of Care Workers are required to meet the following English Qualifications:
- have completed at least year 9 at an English-speaking school
- have completed and be deemed competent in Basic and General English or English as Additional Language (EAL)
- Members of Australian College of Care Workers are required to subscribe to the Australian College of Care Workers Code of Conduct and Code of Ethics.
- Members of Australian College of Care Workers are registered and consent to making the Members Register available to the public for the purpose of verifying their Membership.
- Work Experience – Evidence of a minimum of 200 hours of work experience annually.
- Continual Professional Development (CPD) – Evidence to show 20 hours of CPD per year for ongoing registration.
